'Me te kōpae Kārearea''Living nests of the Kārearea - Rarely Seen'
‘Kura Kārearea’ is born from a place of future investment in our tamariki. Kārearea refers to the Falcon. The tohu of the Kārearea embodies the approach we are choosing to adopt in our style of learning.
The Kārearea watches over her domain, is swift and decisive in her actions to ensure preservation and advancement of her whanau. This is how we see the future of our Kārearea Tamariki
Our aim is for tamariki to learn to fly in our Āhuru Mowai (safe haven).
Using a familiar wahi, our tamariki can develop their minds to spread their wings further by effectively setting up a fun environment that is dedicated to their learning.

What each tamaiti brings to Kura Kārearea is unique and valued through their mana, wairua and mauri.
Our kaupapa of learning through the Tuakana Teina model is a natural choice for a whānau-centric approach and presents benefits for all involved.
We have created a safe Te Reo Māori afterschool and holiday programme accessible for our tamariki to play and continue learning.

‘Me te kopae kārearea’ - refers to the living nest of the Falcon, high on the cliffside and is rarely seen. This is appropriate for our tamariki as we are setting a precedence with providing te reo Māori afterschool care & Holiday Programmes rarely seen before in Rotorua or Aotearoa.

'Ko te manu e kai ana i te miro nōnā te ngahere,
ko te manu e kai ana i te mātauranga nōnā te ao'
'The bird that consumes the miro berry owns the forest,
the bird that consumes knowledge owns the world'
